Folda does not collect, sell, or share your personal data. Your files stay on your device and the storage you choose. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising in this version.
Folda is a private file manager for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what the app does — and does not do — with your information. It applies to the Folda app published on the Apple App Store.
None. Folda has no user accounts and no sign-in. We do not collect analytics, usage statistics, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or crash reports on our own servers. We have no servers that receive your data.
Folda's locked folders use AES‑256‑GCM encryption performed on your device. The folder key is derived from the password you choose; if you turn on Face ID or Touch ID for a folder, a device-only copy of its key is kept in the device Keychain behind device authentication. Unlocking lets Folda create a temporary readable copy for an action you choose, such as viewing, editing, or sharing. An ordinary file you export is no longer protected by the folder's encryption at its destination.
The developer cannot reset a folder password or recover files from a locked folder whose password is lost. Deleting Folda removes the data it stores in its own app storage; files in locations you connected (for example a USB drive or iCloud Drive) stay where they are.
Viewing or editing a protected file may require a decrypted working copy in Folda’s private storage. Active text-editing working copies use iOS complete file protection and are removed after successful completion or explicit discard where applicable. If the device cannot write the newest text revision, Folda may retain it temporarily in process memory and warn you to keep the app open; closing or terminating the app can lose that memory-only revision.
Folda can connect to WebDAV and FTP servers you specify. Saved passwords use the device Keychain. Files and authentication data travel between your device and the server you choose; they do not pass through a developer-operated Folda server. WebDAV connections require HTTPS. Standard FTP is unencrypted and should be used only on a private, trusted network.
When you enable Wi‑Fi Transfer, Folda runs an authenticated HTTP service on your local network. HTTP is not encrypted, so keep the session link private, use only a trusted network, and stop the session when finished. Unlocking a protected folder for a web session allows that authorized browser to access its readable contents. iOS may suspend the service in the background.
When you share or export a file or backup, the app, recipient, or storage provider you choose receives that data under its own privacy practices. Remote images and mathematical typesetting in Markdown documents may contact the image host or the MathJax CDN to display the document.
The first App Store release (1.0) does not include a website-video browser, website-video discovery, or a website-media downloader. Playback of supported files you already have remains available.
Folda asks for certain permissions only to power features you use, and only for the item you choose:
Data obtained through these permissions is used locally for the stated purpose and is not transmitted to the developer.
Folda offers an optional one‑time in‑app purchase (Folda Pro). Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. The developer never receives your payment card or billing details. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Folda does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children. The app is rated for general audiences.
We do not share or sell your information, because we do not collect it.
If this policy changes in a future version, the updated policy will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
